Sunday, Left San Antonio 82 warm degrees,
arrived at Cagle Rec Area - 32 freezing degrees...
we have some TV and cell service here,
but no Wifi, my dear!
Monday, David saw the “endangered” Red-Cockaded Woodpecker,
tried to get a pic
I did not see it, could beat myself with a stick...
Went out again Tuesday to look,
I saw it (but no pic) and shook :)
Here at Cagle til Monday at Noon,
David is “oppressed” with non-ADA buffoons.
Looked for the bird again Wednesday (different spot)
no luck...I'm shot!
New Waverly groceries, Mexican lunch and gas,
so full, on dinner we pass :)
Thursday, it's a windy 59 degrees -
No shorts yet, too much of a breeze!
Crows ate all our suet,
why did they have to do it?
Talked to Ranger Warren re: staying til Monday,
he said move to spot 20 Friday!
David is happy, so I am happy!
He washed the trailer Friday after the move,
then he was in a good mood...
Had to run to town for addiction supplies :)
found a Walmart in Conroe was no surprise!
Had a nice campfire, dinner, then bed...
Saturday is to rest before to Lexington, TX we head.
Praying for good weather, so David can jump with Bob :)
Half way to Lexington, we get a text,
clouds too low, no jump til Thursday next.
Cold, can't parachute jump, rainy in Louisiana valley,
so we decide to go home Monday to see Sally.
David drove 850 miles, 16-1/2 hrs Monday,
399 miles, 8 hrs Tuesday,
we got home safely at 4:30pm happy day!
Sally is safe and happy...Festus is jealously sappy!
So thankful to God for 6 new birds,
and 7303 miles driven,
our new friends and blessed travels,
and his GRACE that never unravels!
